Still a better movie than the first, but in no way as good as the 2nd and Fury Road tops all 3 of them. suffers from having a too big budget and that is clear from the moment the giant letters "Tina Turner" appear on the screen, it felt more like a Indiana Jones movie than the gritty and brutal Mad Max 1+2, and lots of children and its more of a cage fight movie than a car chase. ), Mad Max 2 is the only actually really good one out of the 3 Movies and it still holds up today.
and to understand where the V8 Interceptor, the leather clothes and the character comes from. interesting to watch, but more in a history lesson kind of way. Then watched the first 3 movies (the first one is total cringe, kinda hard to understand some people and so low budget people in the US didn't even know there was a first part because they never showed it. I just played the game the last few days (surprisingly awesome, do recommend playing!).
The Car, the V8 Interceptor played a big role in Mad Max 1 and 2, it is destroyed pretty much instantly in Fury Road, just to be brought back later, i did not get the significance or the connection of that at all just from watching Fury Road. There are a few hidden nods to the old movies that you will miss for sure but nothing substantial.
